we never gave up.

and now we are back,

with overall champion of the Chung Ling Butterworth skill competitions and campfire!

this is for you, Yi Zhang, and Yong Xiang.

we will not disappoint you.

T/L Goh Yi Zhang's Funeral

To all scout brothers and guide/ranger sisters:

tomorrow, 2p.m. ,20.01.2010 (Wednesday),

Yi Zhang's funeral will be held,

at Bukit Gantong, Penang.

I really hope that all the scouts or guides or rangers friends of Yi Zhang,

or those who would like to pay him respect for the last time,

would attend this funeral.

please inform the others and spread this news to whom it may concern.

and for those who doesn't know whr it is,

Bukit Gantong Cemetery is located near the Union High School,

just turn into the road beside the horse-racing club at the traffic light,

drive till the very end of the road,

and there it is.

any questions you may contact one of us, of the Senior Troop OCs of the 11th Georgetown (South) Scout Group.

I won't give our numbers out here, to prevent any unnecessary disturbance.

I know this is heavy...

everyone was crying, mourning.

u guys must have heard about the news yesterday

about the CLHS Dragon Boat team tragedy..

by today the lost ones were found dead.

A great lost to us, our scout group, our school, whole community and our world.

they are excellent humans with great qualities,

but it is so unfair that they's returned to Heaven.

Hereby, I T/L Keng Wah Loon and all other scout troop brothers,

mourn for the tragic death of our dear

Duty Master T/L Goh Yi Zhang

a form 5 scout,

Mas. Brendon Yeoh Yuen Khye

and also one of our form 4 member/ future leader of this scout troop,

Mas. Wang Yong Xiang

it is such a great pain for all of us,

tears washed our faces,

but this is their unfair fate,

so let's just wish them so that they could leave the world peacefully,

all of you will always be in our heart.

Group Camp 2009

I'm sorry but I think updating his own blog is enough to keep Mas. Lim Teik Hua busy.

yet he had just finished the update on the Group Camp 2009, which lasted for 3 days (5 days for form 3).

2009 International Penang Bridge Marathon Duty

My apologies, for letting this blog being inactive too long.

exam is over, holiday is now, group camp has passed....

well we went for a duty during 22nd of November - The 2009 International Penang Bridge Marathon.

It was a direct order from the Scout HQ, that they require our contribution in succeeding this event.

so, we sent 60 scouts from our troop.

The scouts involved from all over Penang were gathered at the Pantai Jerejak's jetty at the night before this event.

and then we were divided into teams and take up different jobs and responsibilities.

and the station for the Form 4 Senior Troop was, a water station in the middle of Penang Bridge.

Of course we went to our stations by bus.

and now I shall let the pictures talk.

and this is our water station, we gave out drinking waters and wet sponges for the runners

The 1st one to pass our check point, is not a person, but a huge group!

well they are too fast for my phone camera

well that was what left after everyone has crossed our station

we cleaned up the area around our station and trying to figure out how to get back to the island.

and then, no choice, we didn't want to wait, so we walked!

we walked back and met the competitors of Quarter Marathon,

so we run together with them, to the ending point

yay!

tired by the end of the event.

Group Maintenance 25/10/2009

Early update ---> Group maintenance

Flood had always came in Scout Den. Therefore group maintenance should be carried out more frequently

8.30 after marching training, scouts gather around scout den for group maintenace.

Each Junior troops cleared their own troop garden.

Was in a big mess before that. but seems to become cleaner after yesterday.

In the end, group maintenance was carried out pretty well.

We hope that more Juniors will show up next time.

In future, more group maintenance will be carried out to ensure that our beloved scout den is being kept at tip top condition.

JTC is held on 24th till 26th of August 2009

All form 1 and form 2 scouts are compulsory to attend this TEST camp

well, that's just about it,
